Heather Gutentag (pronouns: she/her) is a Counselor in the Counselors in Academic Residence (CARE) Program, a program that provides mental health services in academic offices to facilitate students' academic and life goals. She provides clinical services to students referred by University Housing staff. Heather is available to provide consultation to staff and prevention services. Heather’s approach to therapy is finding creative ways to incorporate CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), IPT (Interpersonal Psychotherapy, and MAP (Managing and Adapting Practice) to aid her clients in meeting their mental health goals.
Areas of professional interest include depression, anxiety, adjustment to College, and improving self-care and time management
