Nic Dahlberg (pronouns: he/him) is a Counselor in the Counselors in Academic Residence (CARE) Program, a program that provides mental health services in academic offices to facilitate students' academic and life goals. He provides clinical services students in the College of Pharmacy and is also available to provide prevention and outreach and consultation services to College of Pharmacy faculty and staff. He is passionate about working within the College of pharmacy and has an interest for working with the college’s motivated and analytical students.
Areas of professional interest include trauma, overcoming mental health challenges, identity exploration, multiculturalism, and living a meaningful life. Nic works from a client-centered model that incudes interventions and framework from CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) with a strong emphasis on identity exploration, finding meaning, and accepting difficult emotions. He enjoys working with young adults in order to help them shape their lives to find purpose and meaning that is fulfilling and affirming.
