ACT for Anxiety/Depression

This group is closed for this semester, check back for the new schedule.

All groups are free and confidential.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is an evidenced-based treatment for anxiety and depressive disorders. This group will meet for 5 weeks to review ACT principles, including: managing “private events” (i.e., thoughts and feelings), Mindfulness, Cognitive Defusion techniques, and commitment to goal directed behavior. ACT uses metaphors and storytelling to provide education on ACT principles. Student may expect to learn these strategies and support one another.
