1st Section: Fridays 1pm - 3pm Beginning Sept. 29
Info Session 1: Friday, Sep. 22, 1-3 pm

2nd Section: TBD
Info Session 2: TBD

All groups are free and confidential.

Soul Siblings is being piloted* this fall at the CMHC as a skills-based therapy group for Black women and women-identified students. The group is being offered twice this semester, once beginning late September and again in mid-October. Soul Siblings meets 2 hours per week for four weeks, and participants must commit to attending all four sessions.

What is Soul Siblings?

Soul Siblings is a collective healing experience intended to inspire a practice of intentional mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness. The primary healing principles of Soul Siblings are acceptance, emotion-positivity, relational power, intersectionality, inclusive spirituality, and mindfulness. Soul Siblings features guest-facilitation of trauma-informed yoga and interactive theatre/creative practice.

There will also be an opportunity to participate in a Soul Siblings focus group for participants and/or people interested in providing feedback about the group and its healing principles.

There is a mandatory Information Session for Soul Siblings, so please call (512) 471-3515 or stop by CMHC (SSB 5th floor) to register for this session and learn more about the group.

*Note: This semester’s pilot Soul Siblings groups will be evaluated to determine whether an all gender space will form in the spring. An all gender Soul Siblings will depend on student interests and availability. Please email Dr. Kimberly Burdine, if you’d be interested in an all gender Soul Siblings group in the spring, and provide a time and day that you anticipate working best for your schedule!
