Graduate Student Support Group

This group is closed for this semester, check back for the new schedule.

All groups are free and confidential.

Being a graduate student can be challenging when facing rigorous academic work, pressures for success, lack of sleep, and lack of time. Graduate students often struggle to have people, time, and space in their lives to authentically share their feelings and concerns about life or conflicts within their programs. This is a support group for graduate students that is designed to provide that confidential space as well as receive support and feedback from their peers. Topics discussed in group may include (but are not limited to): personal and professional relationships, academic concerns, adjusting to and leaving graduate school, coping with stress, self-esteem/confidence, identity development (personal and professional), career issues, and intersections of cultural identity.

In most cases, before joining a group or class, students meet with the group leaders to determine if a particular group is a good fit for them. To set up a pre-group interview, please call (512) 471-3515.
