Yesica is a counselor in the Counselors in Academic Residence (CARE) Program, a program that provides mental health services in academic offices to facilitate students' academic and life goals. She provides clinical services to the School of Undergraduate Studies and University Housing and Dining. Yesica is available to provide consultation to staff and prevention services.

Areas of professional interest include anxiety, depression, trauma, challenges in adjustment, developing effective coping skills for stress, and mental health advocacy. Yesica works from an eclectic model that includes interventions and frameworks from cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and solution focused therapy.

CARE Clinical Services

  • Students may be referred by a staff or faculty member and they may also self-refer by contacting Yesica.
  • Yesica will assess student needs and offer appropriate services such as short-term counseling, case management and crisis intervention, and groups.

Trainings and Workshops

  • Offered to students and staff
  • Topics vary (e.g. stress management, test anxiety, assisting student in distress)


  • Available to consult one-on-one and in meetings or groups. Please contact Yesica for more information.
