Mike Andorka (pronouns: he/him) is a Psychologist in the Counselors in Academic Residence (CARE) Program, a program that provides mental health services in academic offices to facilitate students' academic and life goals. He is enthusiastic about serving these roles as he has a passion for “helping helpers.”

From a clinical perspective, Mike stems from an eclectic theoretical orientation. His interventions include techniques from feminist, interpersonal, cognitive-behavioral, multicultural, and critical pedagogy rooted in a strong therapeutic alliance. He specifically enjoys working with LGBTQIA students and students of color. He also has clinical experience working with survivors of interpersonal trauma, alcohol and drug moderation/recovery, eating/body image concerns.

CARE Clinical Services

  • Students may be referred by a staff or faculty member, they may also self-refer by contacting Mike.
  • Counselors will assess student needs and offer appropriate services (e.g. short-term counseling, case management and crisis intervention, groups).

Trainings and Workshops

  • Offered to students and staff
  • Topics vary (e.g. stress management, test anxiety, assisting student in distress)

Consultation

  • Available to consult one-on-one and in meetings/groups. Please contact me for more information.
